Proprietor Nigel Brown has been sailmaking since 1980, gaining invaluable experience in some of the world’s foremost sail lofts and contributing to four America’s Cup programmes.
His years at the pinnacle of sailmaking, combined with a dedication to sourcing the finest materials and upholding impeccable standards of craftsmanship, have resulted in products of exceptional quality that consistently prove themselves on international racecourses. Every mainsail and jib is expertly shaped using precision-milled moulds, ensuring each sail maintains consistent and accurate shapes from one production to the next.
Since 2005, Nigel has specialised in sails for the International One Metre, continually refining sail designs and construction methods for optimal performance. These IOM sails have achieved notable success, winning races and regattas across Spain, Italy, Malta, and the UK.
With the launch of the DragonForce 65 in 2013 and the DragonFlite 95 in 2016, Catsails quickly established itself as a leading supplier of aftermarket sails for these popular models. Today, Catsails sails are shipped worldwide and have helped secure national titles in several countries as well as being the sailmaker for the 2023 DF95 Global Champion, Craig Richards.
